Hello again. Much like our last report, this week our results have Pure Snake-Eye decks outperforming Fire King variants. However, Road of the King’s recent reports have Fire King Variants being more popular/dominant. I’m not sure which of us has the data discrepency, but reasons like this are why I direct people to other resources for more information. Though, Pakawat Pamornsut who recently made the finals in back to back YCS events stated he believed the Pure variant was superior because it had less dead cards in the mirror. Though ultimately, every duelist will have to determine which is the right choice for them and their event through personal testing.
Tenpai has had an explosion in popularity. As such, cards to counter them like Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit, to destroy Brimming Sangen Manor when it attempts to search. FIRE decks are also opting to use level 1 Xyz like Kikinagashi Fucho and Lyrilusc – Assembled Nightingale as counter measures. Conversely, some Tenpai players are trending toward siding Heat Wave when forced to go first so that they can ensure the ability to kill turn 3.
