Strategic Summary:

Today’s CDP features the return of the Pumpking TCG WP theme to my channel, fresh on the heels of its new indirect support from the Blazing Dominion core set. Now that you’re back, let’s focus in on these new support cards.

First up on the new list is Officiating Reverie, a new Level 6 DARK Zombie that can Special Summon itself from hand by discarding another card. Additionally, when it’s in the GY and an Xyz Monster is sent to the GY, it can be banished to Special Summon a Zombie from the GY. Both of these effects synergize especially well with the Pumpking strategy, especially after factoring in Pilgrim Reaper for mass milling, which I’ll come back to in a minute. The second new card is Officiator of Doom Samuel, a new R6NK Zombie Xyz that carries a Quick Effect to Special Summon a Zombie from your GY, then it also gets to negate an opponent’s monster! Lastly, we have a card that recently came back from the Forbidden List due to BLZD, Fairy Tail – Snow, which is an amazing addition to any deck that mills a lot.

Now that we’ve covered the new stuff, let’s talk about why the Tearlaments fit in so well here. You see, mass milling has always been a Zombie deck’s best friend, but the Pumpking theme in particular is one of the best Zombie themes at still being able to get their key cards into the GY, even if you inadvertently draw them! Combine that with Tearlaments Scheiren to ship any drawn Mezuki to the GY, and you have all of the tools you’ll need to execute your plays. The other part of this synergy is that copies of Call of the Haunted gets you back monster(s) during the opponent’s turn, to include Tearlaments Reinoheart for a Fusion Summon of Predaplant Dragostapelia during their turn or Stare of the Snake Hair to lock down an opponent’s monster. With Snow able to banish Changshi the Spiridao, that handles the rest of your ‘bricks’ so-to-speak. Then, as a nice cherry on top, all the mass milling from Tearlaments Scream and Tearlaments Kashtira lend themselves well to pairing with a Fiendsmith engine, giving you even more Level 6 material for your Xyz Summons! That Pilgrim Reaper also comes quite in handy for that. It’s a match made for the GY, when the Pumpking comes to play with the Tearlaments!
